| Inclusion is a philosophy that strives to provide the accommodation
necessary for most children with disabilities to be educated in their neighborhood school.
Critical to this choice is to verify that all the services your child needs are
available and provided by fully qualified personnel. Another important issue is that as your child grows older, they should be asked if they are comfortable with the social communication limitations this choice may create. While many children have lots of friends, t is not uncommon for a Deaf child in an inclusion program to only be able to communicate with their interpreter or itinerant Teacher of the Deaf. |
