At about the age of two years, children become bored with the VRA task, but aren't quite ready to raise their hand in response to a test signal.  Play audiometry is a way to involve a game into the test situation.  When properly executed, play audiometry provides accurate and repeatable results.  At this age, your child can also perforn speech discrimination testing using  the Word Intelligibility by Picture Identification (WIPI).  This is a very important piece of the diagnostic puzzle as it lets the audiologist evaluate the quality and accuracy of the sounds reaching your child's ears.
